Lauren partners with companies, business owners, and financial institutions in complex bankruptcy, financial recovery and commercial litigation matters. She represents debtors-in-possession in Chapter 11 proceeding, trustees and examiners, secured and unsecured creditors, adversary defendants, creditors’ committees, adversary defendants, equity holders and other significant stakeholders in bankruptcy, federal, and state court proceedings. She uses her experience to achieve the best results for her clients and their businesses while also providing straight-forward, honest, and practical legal advice.
Leveraging her financial acumen and 10+ years of legal experience, Lauren navigates her clients through all aspects of bankruptcy proceedings, out-of-court workouts, restructurings, foreclosures, and collection and enforcement of judgments.
Clients rely on Lauren for her ability to analyze, distill, and communicate sophisticated financial and legal matters into straight-forward legal advice. They look to her to synthesize complex bank records, tax returns, and other legal and financial documents to find solutions to complex financial problems and help in reaching resolutions quickly. They appreciate her candor, honesty and responsiveness when dealing with matters large and small.
Prior to joining Shuker & Dorris, Lauren was a partner at an AM Law 200 firm in its Chambers-ranked bankruptcy and commercial litigation practices. She has consistently been recognized by her peers and rating services as a top business bankruptcy attorney. Lauren has been rated Judicial and Peer AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell (highest possible rating). Lauren earned her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, cum laude, in 2011. She obtained her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from University of Tampa in 2008.
Before going into private practice, Lauren was a federal judicial law clerk intern for the Honorable Caryl E. Delano. In law school, Lauren received the Judge Alexander L. Paskay Scholarship Award and the William F. Blews Pro Bono Award.
